PPT Advocacy Boot Camp

Presentation by Tiffany Katz, TMK Consulting LLC
This presentation will explain what every parent should know about advocating at PPT
(Planning and Placement Team) meetings for their special education student. Topics will
include: laws and regulations governing PPT meetings; the rights of parents at PPT
meetings; the IEP (Individualized Education Program); what to do if you disagree with
your child's PPT team.
Tiffany Katz is a Parent Advocate who has worked as a special education teacher both in
a resource room and a self contained classroom. During the meeting there will be a
drawing for a free initial consultation session with Ms. Katz.
Bristol SEPTO is a support resource for parents and families in the greater Bristol area.
Our meetings are held monthly at the Bristol Public Library on the first Tuesday of the
month from 6:30 to 7:45 pm. All are welcome to attend. For more information about
